On November 16, 2025, nearly 300 residents gathered at Low Level Park with one shared goal: to make Sadashivnagar cleaner and greener through collective action.
Plogging for a Cleaner Sadashivnagar
On the morning of November 16, 2025, Low Level Park in Sadashivnagar was filled with energy and purpose. Families arrived together. Children came excited and prepared. Teenagers brought their friends. Senior citizens joined in with equal enthusiasm.
This was not just another neighbourhood event. It was a reflection of what can happen when residents choose to take responsibility for the place they call home.

How It Began
The initiative took shape under the vision of Mr. Sriram Tadimalla and Ms.Indu Sridhar, who believed meaningful change begins within each household, at the grassroots level. The idea was simple yet powerful. Create a Lane Representative Group where residents from different lanes could represent their streets and work collectively towards keeping Sadashivanagar “Clean and Green”.
The group began meeting regularly, monthly and sometimes more often when required. Conversations focused on solutions, participation and long term impact.
What started as a challenge to clean one street gradually expanded into a larger mission to involve the entire locality. The focus was not only on cleaning streets but on building a culture of responsibility and shared ownership.

Intent and Challenge
The drive was built on a clear intent. Create awareness. Encourage participation across age groups and professions. Build a sense of belonging.
The effort was never about blaming anyone for litter. It was about coming together and working towards a common goal.
Planning began weeks in advance. Sadashivnagar was divided into six zones. Zone leads were identified. Volunteers stepped forward. Residents were introduced to plogging and informed about what to expect and how to contribute.
With support from the SRWA committee, GBA team, volunteers, sponsors and residents, the initiative gathered momentum. By the event day, nearly 300 residents had turned up to participate.
Who Participated
The age range itself reflected the spirit of inclusion.
The youngest participant was 6 years old and the oldest was 77 years old.
The largest turnout came from children and teenagers. Many youngsters brought their friends along to spend a meaningful Sunday morning. Several children arrived fully geared up with their parents, ready to contribute.
Participants included residents from across Sadashivnagar, runners and walkers communities, students from HKES College and Poorna Pranya School, representatives from Reva University, and teams from Sattvam, Bodycraft and the Sweden Alumni Network. Composting changemakers from Malleshwaram also joined the effort.
Sponsors who believed in the same philosophy did more than provide financial support. They participated actively. Some residents sponsored gift vouchers for children. Others contributed towards buying supplies. Every contribution strengthened the initiative.
The Day in Action
Sadashivnagar was divided into six zones, each led by a designated lead. Participants were allocated zones and began plogging, walking or jogging while collecting waste.
By the end of the drive:

Celebrating Young Eco Champions
One of the most inspiring aspects of the drive was the enthusiasm of children and teens, who formed the largest participating group.
Several children showcased artwork themed around a Clean and Green Sadashivnagar. Their work was displayed at the venue and they were given small gifts in appreciation.
A Lil Champ Eco Warrior Badge system was launched during the event. Through this initiative, children can participate in various cleanliness activities and earn badges as a mark of honour and pride. The idea is to nurture long term civic responsibility and empower young residents as change makers.
Community and Gratitude
After the clean up, participants were acknowledged and appreciated. Certificates and badges were distributed to children. Breakfast was sponsored by Sattvam and refreshments from Anand Sweets were shared among participants.
The morning concluded with cleaner streets, stronger connections and a renewed sense of community pride.
Looking Ahead
This drive marks the beginning of many more initiatives to come. The larger message remains simple. Change begins at home. Each resident, through daily habits and small actions, plays a role in shaping the neighbourhood.
Sadashivnagar has shown what is possible when a community comes together with intention and action.
Now the goal is clear.
To continue building awareness.
To encourage more residents to step forward.
And to keep Sadashivnagar clean and green, together.
